New to photography. LOTS to learn!

My first 4k Moon Video Using the Nikon Coolpix P1000. I got this camera so I could start trying to take pictures of the planets and maybe nebulae and galaxies. Unfortunately, not having much luck with that yet. I'm relatively new to photography in general.

Sad first attempt at a picture of Mars". All I get is a really cool bright red "star" instead of the planet with some of the surface features I've seen in other pictures. I set the camera to M mode, manual focus...zoom all the way in 3000mm. The longest exposure in M mode is 60 seconds but only with ISO=100. I don't think I can take pictures of galaxies and nebulae with only 60 seconds at ISO 100... can I? I have a Canon Rebel XTs where I can set the bulb mode and leave on indefinitely.

Venus and Jupiter. Airplane flew into my shot!
Nikon CoolPix P1000 - Jupiter moving across the pre-dawn sky 2/5/2019.

The thumbnail is a still shot (screen capture, not photo taken during video) from the video that I used photoshop to enhance color/contrast work
Another attempt at Jupiter. This time... the winds were too high... but there are a few moments when you can see it well enough.
